Words of wisdom

My friend, Marci, has a wooden plaque with these words painted on it by her backdoor at the eye-level of her three young sons.

“Promise me you’ll always remember: you’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

Those words were written by A.A. Milne (who is almost as wise and wonderful as Marci) for Christopher Robin to Pooh, and now from me to you.

  1. Pat,

I have the same saying on the wall in my office. There is another saying that I have posted that I look at every day.
“To get something you never had, you need to do something you never did.”

Keep up the great work … it’s inspiring!

    • Thank you! I love that you have those “Pooh” words in front of you! And, to do something you never did, you need to “not be afraid to be afraid.” (Hmm, I wonder how long we can keep this going.) Really enjoyed catching up with you, Debbie.

  2. Have no wooden plaque, but do have a tile plaque which reads: Live
    Love
    Laugh

Anonymous and perhaps a bit simplistic–but true! The plaque is from Tim and Luann.

Also, have a saying on my computer desk from Maya Angelou which reads:
    Mostly,
    what I have learned
    about aging is this-
    by all means, do it!

And, I’m taking Maya and Tim and Luann’s advice most seriously!

  3. My sister has a wooden plaque that says “no muggles beyond this point” — words written by J.K. Rowling. I believe these also are wise words.
