Dear Wishful Thinking Works Readers,
Even the Market is taking 15 minute breaks. If this is a trying time for you, take a deep breath . . .three deep breaths with a slow exhale can do wonders for your body and your sweet little brain. Come on, right now is a good time.
Easy Ways to Give Yourself a Break
1. Watch kitten videos. If you hate those, watch any videos that will make you laugh or smile.
2. Listen to music. Play your favorites while your work.
3. Dance like nobody is watching. (If that is not your thing, lift your shoulders, stretch your arms, run in place for a few. the key is to move.)
4. Hug your kids- then read or play with them.
5. Clean that closet.
6. Call a friend. Or write those cards you have been meaning to send.
7. Download a good book or read the one that has been siting on your nightstand for months.
8. Get out in nature, if you can’t – check out nature web cams online or visit nature based sites – there are thousands waiting to delight you.
9. Review the photos in your phone, I just spent a few minutes on vacation reliving amazing trips.
Repeat as needed, and increase your self-care – now is a great time to treat yourself gently.
Breathe . . . this too shall pass.
